Review

All of the people featured on 24 Hours have, of course, their own important stories. But the one told by Hassnain, 24, who was involved in a collision while riding his moped, is genuinely remarkable. He grew up in Lahore, Pakistan: “I enjoyed every minute, every second of my life, being there.”

At university, he became involved in politics. While campaigning during the 2013 elections, he witnessed something: the vote was being rigged. It’s no spoiler to say that what happened next meant he had to leave his beloved Lahore, and his family. Somehow, though, he remains steadfast: “It is a moral duty to tell the truth. If I just kept quiet I am cheating my own people.”

Summary

Moped delivery man Hussnain, 24, is rushed to A&E after being caught up in an accident involving a police car chasing another vehicle. Seventy-six-year-old Edward is brought in due to his breathing difficulties and a serious pre-existing heart condition, while part-time wrestlers Kieran and James come in after Kieran injures his knee in a bout.
