Series 14 - Episode 18



Theo Randall, who was awarded a Michelin star at the River Café, sets the brief for the remaining cooks. And – mamma mia! – it’s to create a dish inspired by Italian cuisine.

As the competition hots up, the contestants are pared down as if they were shavings of parmesan. Wednesday’s semi-final challenge is to prepare lunch for 120 RAF veterans, Thursday’s VIP banquet marks the centenary of women’s right to vote and on Friday they must wow restaurant critics Tracey MacLeod, Tom Parker Bowles and Fay Maschler.

In between there’s the leftovers invention test, which frankly is enough to give you indigestion. Although John and Gregg never seem to mind.


The semi-finals continue with the remaining six contenders facing another test to keep themselves in the competition. Judges John Torode and Gregg Wallace are joined by renowned chef Theo Randall, who asks the contestants to each create an outstanding dish inspired by Italian cuisine in just 90 minutes, before one of them is eliminated.
