Review

Growing up, settling down and having kids all resulted in the Friends being put out to pasture. And with our nerd-friends at a similar stage in life, The Big Bang Theory now embarks on its own last series.

On Sheldon’s New York honeymoon with Amy (after they were married by Luke Skywalker, let’s not forget), he is quickly removing any romance by diarising their intimacy the way a CEO would schedule a conference call.

Back in the flats, Leonard and Penny find Amy’s quiet dad Larry (Teller — half of Penn & Teller) hiding from his bossy wife (Kathy Bates), and Penny is upset by Leonard’s comparison of their marriages.

In traditional Big Bang order, that just leaves Howard and Bernadette (the former upsets the latter), and Raj (his TV appearance backfires).

It’s fun to have the gang back. We can only hope the writers concoct more engaging storylines than afflicted Friends’ final days.

Summary

Sheldon and Amy's honeymoon runs aground in New York, Penny and Leonard discover that they are uncomfortably similar to Amy's parents, while Raj insults astrophysicist Neil deGrasse Tyson and starts a war on social media. Kathy Bates and Teller (of Penn and Teller fame) guest star as Amy's parents.
