Review

Some of the celebrities must emerge from MasterChef wondering if a change in career is called for. Spencer Matthews, after repeatedly getting to grips with a scalding hot kebab, showcased deft kitchen skills, as did rugby player Martin Bayfield. Although some of the more memorable moments came courtesy of British Airways head chef Frank, who took absolutely no nonsense when it came to Gemma Collins. Despite her protestations that she was creative, he retorted: “You’re not. You’re a nightmare”. Give him his own series.

There are now three burgeoning celebrity culinary protégés who have made it this far and are in the running to be named 2018 champion. Two tasks remain: they must present John Torode and Gregg Wallace with a faultless three-course meal, and they will also fall under the critical gaze of Bryn Williams. At his new restaurant, they will cook for some of the best chefs in the country who will be well-known to MasterChef viewers, including Marcus Wareing, Romy Gill and Shaun Rankin.

Summary

The three remaining celebrities take part in the 2018 final. Their penultimate challenge is the toughest and most daunting of the competition - The Chef's Table. This year it will be hosted by critically acclaimed chef, Bryn Williams. The trio will be working out of his new restaurant, Bryn Williams at Somerset House, cooking for an exceptional gathering of some the best chefs in the country. Back at base, the three must cook and present a faultless three-course meal for judgement by John Torode and Gregg Wallace, in what is their last chance to prove they have what it takes to be crowned champion.
