Review

It’s Lister’s birthday and if the onset of old age is not bad enough for Craig Charles’s lovable slob, the ship’s computers get taken over by the rapacious M Corp, a software company that wants to charge for everything - even people’s thoughts.

As our dreadlocked hero copes with a world where he cannot see anything (even his crew mates) that is not M Corp-branded, we are left to reflect on the control freak multinationals of our own society. The satire is clever, punchy and spot on; but, in the nimble hands of scriptwriter Doug Naylor and the tried-and-tested brilliance of this ensemble, it's also very funny.
