The Republic of Ireland is preparing for a referendum on whether to alter legislation that makes abortion illegal in almost all circumstances. Reporter Shaunagh Connaire meets women and families on both sides of the debate, and documents the dilemmas medical staff face working under the current laws. Pope Francis plans to visit Ireland prior to the vote scheduled for next summer, and if he does he'll reinforce the Catholic Church's opposition to abortion. Even so, some practising Catholics might vote to allow abortion in cases of rape and when the foetus isn't viable.
