In a promotional stunt for this new sitcom, a bizarre cake arrived at RT’s offices shaped to resemble a (dead) human foot. It turns out the show itself is as macabre and left-field as that cake – though darkly funny, too.

Our ineffectual hero Simon arrives on his first day in a new job as hospital porter, claiming he quit medical school to care for his sick grandmother. His colleagues proceed to humiliate him in gruesomely imaginative ways, mostly involving the body of a dead rabbi that Simon must deliver to the morgue.

It’s the bleakest and blackest of comedy but with Rutger Hauer as a resident psycho and a cameo from Kelsey Grammer – yes the Kelsey Grammer – worth a look.
