Part of the joy of
Strictly Come Dancing
is watching the hopeless give it a go and the average improve every week. But post-Blackpool the cream of the celebrity dancers usually rises to the top, with the novelty turns and so-so hoofers being politely shown the door by the voting public with a “Thanks, but enough’s enough”.
However, it’s been a year of voting surprises (think Brexit and Donald Trump) and the Strictly results have been unpredictable, too. Still, having been given a perfect score for his scorching Charleston, Danny Mac has got to be in the final (and if not I’ll pickle my walnuts, as Len Goodman would say). Tomorrow we’ll find out which three couples have made it.
Summary
Tensions reach their highest point yet as Claudia, Danny, Louise and Ore enter the semi-finals of the annual dancing competition. With three places in the grand final up for grabs, the two performers who emerge from today's contest with the highest scores will instantly progress to the next round, while the bottom two face the prospect of a nerve-racking dance-off. While there has been no shortage of drama throughout this year's contest, including Will Young's shock withdrawal early on in the competition, and Peter Kay's divisive guest appearance during the live Blackpool show, all this will pale into insignificance as the remaining stars take to the stage in an effort to claim a place in the grand final.
