Summary
In Season 1, Fleabag attempts to rekindle romantic fires to distract her from the mayhem of her life, helps her inappropriate brother-in-law and visits a female-only, silent retreat.
In Season 1, Fleabag attempts to rekindle romantic fires to distract her from the mayhem of her life, helps her inappropriate brother-in-law and visits a female-only, silent retreat.
As the family gathers for her Godmother’s “Sex-hibition”, which features an unnerving sculpture of Fleabag’s dad’s not-so-private parts, our heroine loses the last iota of control she had over her messy life. The episode jerks from black comedy to complete bleakness as we find out exactly what happened to Fleabag’s best friend, Boo.
Phoebe Waller-Bridge’s series has been an unusual, intelligent and heart-wrenching depiction of a young life in tatters and this is a finale that rattles around your brain long after it’s over.
Whether or not we get a second series of Fleabag, one thing’s for sure; Waller-Bridge is here to stay.
