Review

Watching the “He says/she says” opening scene where we cut between characters giving two different versions of the same story, you may recognise the school tutor who’s alleging that a 15-year-old raped her. It’s Melissa Joan Hart, best known as Sabrina the Teenage Witch.

However, there’s nothing remotely magical about the unpleasant plot that takes us down a familiar road: if someone commits a crime but has a biological reason that means they can’t help themselves, should they be punished?

A nice, neat conclusion hoves into view about ten minutes before the end, which means a typical SVU moral conundrum is about to pop up.

Summary

An accusation that a teacher coerced a 15-year-old student into having sex with her is met with the counterclaim by the now-pregnant woman that she was raped. Novak obtains a warrant preventing her from securing an abortion and subsequent DNA tests confirm the boy as the child's father. Huang's suggestion that a personality disorder drew her to the youngster is undermined by incriminating evidence that casts new light on the case. Guest starring Melissa Joan Hart (Sabrina the Teenage Witch).
