A Gay Olde Christmas

Series 9 - Episode 7 A Gay Olde Christmas

Thrown out of a restaurant and forced to take shelter in a museum on Christmas Eve, Will, Grace, Karen and Jack end up whisked back in time to New York of 1912. There they find that Karen is a poor Irish immigrant feeding nine children on stolen onions, Jack her burly muscular sailor lodger, Will their penny-pinching landlord and Grace his oblivious wife. Karen worries she will have to sell her body to Will to pay the rent, but Jack realises that Will is unlikely to take that offer. Thus, it soon becomes apparent the past was not quite as romantic or open to diversity as all had pictured it.
