Review

There’s so much to enjoy in the endearingly bizarre and highly unlikely second series of the Swedish crime drama. It’s bonkers – the American president, played by Kim Cattrall from Sex and the City, goes missing on a state visit to Sweden, but the authorities decide the press mustn’t be told. (You’re laughing, aren’t you?)

Then her disappearance from a house with a secret tunnel is investigated by a scruffy Swedish cop, his pregnant criminal profiler wife, and Greg Wise with an American accent (I love the way he says “Fox News” as “Fax Noos”) as an FBI big shot occasionally tagging along – without “waiting for back-up”. You’re really splitting your sides now, aren’t you?

Everyone falls for an amateurish ruse that should fool no one (you won’t be taken in, I guarantee) and you’ll be ready to surrender your Saturday nights to the madness.
