This is a bit like Stars in Their Eyes in reverse.
Instead of the announcement “Tonight, Matthew, I’m going to be…” and guests reappearing through dry ice dressed as their chosen icon, we’re presented with the fully made-over singing star and we have to guess who it is under the wig and make-up.
We’re not alone: in this one-off game show, three teams of celebs (Diversity, Coronation Street and Daytime) play along, too, under the watchful eye of host Jonathan Ross. So confronted with, say, Lemmy from Motörhead belting out Ace of Spaces, the rowdy teams yell out guesses like “Is it Keith Chegwin?” or “We think it must be Peter Crouch!”
Jonathan Ross hosts a special one-off game show in which three teams of celebrities are challenged to guess the true identity of various famous faces, who have been transformed into their musical heroes for a special performance. Team Diversity, made up of Jordan Banjo, Perri Kiely and Sam Craske take on Anthony Cotton, Catherine Tyldesley and Sally Dynevor of Team Coronation Street, and Team Daytime, represented by Eamonn Holmes, Stacey Solomon and Judge Rinder.
