There’s a new doctor at Holby City Hospital, Alicia, a dip-dyed flopsy as fluently proficient at interfering in the personal lives of patients as her new colleagues.
Alicia (Emmerdale’s Chelsea Halfpenny) is a cheerful Geordie with an almost supernatural ability to discover the secrets of others, just by looking at them. Tonight she divines with pinpoint accuracy why a young pregnant woman brought in after a road accident seems to be so afraid. “Whatever you do, don’t tell anyone,” begs the patient. Some hope.
There’s a touching appearance from Susan Jameson as a proud woman determined to die her way, despite interference from well-meaning idiot Lofty. And it’s good to see Dylan back on the wards.
On her first day, new junior doctor Alicia treats a vulnerable pregnant woman and realises her relationship is not what it seems. Meanwhile, Dylan returns to work and makes an effort with Lofty, Connie turns down a date with Jacob, and Ethan and Honey call it off.
