Trinity is seven, and has undergone the most delicate operation to remove a tumour in the most critical part of her brain. But it’s not over yet: “I am curious about the next step,” she says. “I think it’s going to be very, very terrifying.”

Trinity is another remarkable child who has been through so much, so young. We follow her and her parents as they face what seem to outside observers to be the most overwhelming questions. Though Great Ormond Street’s admirable experts explain possible outcomes with the greatest care, the final yes or no is down to mum and dad. “Decisions are about holidays and meals,” says Trinity’s mum. “I wish the whole world would swallow me up.”

Summary

Cameras follow the treatment of seven-year-old Trinity, who has just been diagnosed with a rare tumour in a critical part of her brain, and Jack, 16, who suffers from severe epileptic seizures. They cannot be controlled through medication, but Great Ormond Street's epilepsy team can offer radical brain surgery which could cure him, but carries serious risks.
