It’s New Year’s Eve in the world of
, which means Zoe has come to work in a sparkly top and amiable idiot Lofty records his colleagues’ resolutions on his phone.
But Connie isn’t permeated by the party spirit. Someone has ratted on her to social services about her apparent treatment of her daughter, Grace, and both are called for an interview.
Naturally she’s as capable as any member of Holby City’s staff of drawing unfavourable parallels with her life and those of her patients. So when a sickly benefits-dependent young woman comes in after an accident, trailing her baby and young son, Connie sharpens up her middle-class weaponry and fires with both barrels.
And what of those resolutions? Well, someone wants to “break less hearts” while someone else aims to “eat less takeaways”. Maybe they should all learn good grammar.
It's New Year's Eve in the ED, and as the team looks forward to 2015, Lofty is making a video of their resolutions - although not all of them are quite so keen on the idea, while Tess is worried by a potential staffing crisis on the busiest night of the year. Connie has an appointment with social services, the outcome of which allows her to cloud her professional judgement, and Zoe is saddened when a familiar face is brought in - alcoholic Molly, who seems to have given up on life.
