Review

This series always finds ways to manoeuvre its characters so they end up gathered around Beth’s living room, taking full advantage of her hospitality. As long-suffering Beth, Arabella Weir underplays beautifully, something not required for Doon Mackichan, who gives her all to the brilliantly overbearing force of nature that is neighbour Cathy.

The two of them head over to Beth’s son Ian’s place and a quiet night looks to be on the cards. It isn’t. Cathy has a spare bottle of vodka to hand and gets magnificently lairy with one of Ian’s neighbours. Babies aren’t her thing.

Summary

Ian and Jaz invite Beth and Cathy over for a quiet drink, but Cathy's over-exuberant dancing causes consternation with the downstairs neighbour. Colin and Eric discover they have time to kill before the start of their evening watching Andy Murray play tennis, but their choice of activity leads to Christine being much more involved in their night than they'd have preferred. Suburban sitcom, starring Jamie Quinn, Harki Bhanbra, Arabella Weir, Doon Mackichan, Jonathan Watson, Alex Norton and Elaine C Smith and featuring TV tennis commentators Andrew Castle and Andrew Cotter.
