When we left Pawnee at the end of series five, Leslie Knope, now a city councillor, was proving less than popular with the townsfolk. As series six opens, however… they still hate her: “Last week I was an answer in the Pawnee Journal’s crossword puzzle. Clue: who’s the worst?”
At least there’s plenty to distract her: as well as an abrupt wedding and a pregnancy, there’s a surprise trip to London to collect an award. Cue the cameos – Heidi Klum pops up as Leslie’s Danish doppelganger, and Peter Serafinowicz is note-perfect as “the 14th Earl of Cornwall-upon-Thames”.
Back in Indiana, Tom is on the trail of the mysterious rival who has set up shop opposite his own Rent-a-Swag – which means more airtime for Tom’s “business partner” Jean-Ralphio and his terrifically awful sister Mona-Lisa.
