High Tide

Series 30 - Episode 27 High Tide

Ethan and Cal decide to take their dying mother for one last grand day out. Unfortunately they do it in a stolen ambulance, though no one seems to mind very much because the siblings are Going Through So Much Pain.

But really the episode is all about dear Lofty, who roams the emergency department looking like a tormented poodle after he helped to kill that silly agency nurse. “Charlie, we need you, it’s Lofty, he’s gone up into the ceiling,” Robyn memorably announces.

But Lofty (Lee Mead) is crawling around in the roof space for a very good reason, he’s engaging via the voice of a dead woman with her traumatised, angry teenage daughter.

The repercussions of the defibrillator accident continue to reverberate for Lofty, who must face the consequences of his actions by explaining the chain of events at a hearing. When the opportunity to help Lana arrives, he decides to skip his meeting and lend her a hand instead. Meanwhile, Cal hijacks an ambulance to take Ethan and his ailing mother to an old family holiday destination, and while there, the brothers decide to finally read the results from the genetics lab. Medical drama, starring Lee Mead.
