Britain's Most Extreme Weather

Britain's Most Extreme Weather

Series 1 - Episode 1

TV weatherman Alex Beresford trawls through centuries of British history to compare past conditions with the storms, heavy snowfall and erratic temperatures typical of today's climate, and discovers if things are set to become worse. The first programme investigates the nation's most fearsome floods, from the Great Storm of 1703, which killed more than 8,000 people and destroyed a fifth of the Royal Navy, to the misery endured by homeowners across Britain last winter.
