If RT had a Moment of the Week, this would be it. Sir David picks up a frozen marsh frog and taps the hard-as-stone amphibian. He places it in warm water and minutes later the frog has thawed and revived, blinking and gulping.

These hand-picked Curiosities are every bit as astounding as a really good magic trick.

Summary

David Attenborough examines the emperor penguin and the wood frog, both of which survive in conditions so cold they seem to defy the laws of nature. The emperor is the only penguin able to breed on Antarctic sea ice during winter, while the wood frog can survive up to 65 per cent of its body mass freezing during its hibernation.
