Review

Sometimes Ichabod Crane (Tom Mison), for all his soulfulness and wit, can be a bit of a pain in the neck. Is there anything he doesn’t know? This week, for example, he just happens to have a working knowledge of Aramaic – backwards, to boot – as he, detective Abbie and her sister, Jenny, try to work out who or what is possessing a host of people close to Captain Irving.

Yes, it’s total hokum once again. We’re channelling The Exorcist – without the projectile vomiting, thankfully. It’s genuinely disturbing in bits but, as ever, some humour leavens the mix, especially when Abbie tries to get Ichabod into modern attire. “God’s wounds,” he exclaims as he tries to sit down. “One sign of the impending apocalypse is surely skinny jeans.”

Summary

Irving's daughter becomes the focus of evil forces, which leads him to plead with Crane and Detective Mills for help - as well as Washington's Bible. Supernatural mystery, starring Tom Mison.
