Review

This particular episode would have had a topical edge back when it was first shown in Canada in 2013. Taking as its inspiration Lance Armstrong’s performance-enhancing drug admission, we see our hero investigating the suspicious death of a cyclist who was seen being given a mysterious potion prior to his demise.

The trouble is that once we get over the not-so-subtle allusions to topical events, there isn’t really much more of interest, save for the sheer cheek of having Murdoch seemingly invent the mechanism behind gear changes. Oh, and Inspector Brackenreid says “B***ocks” instead of his usual “Bloody hell”. At this rate, he’ll be dropping the f-bomb by episode five.

Summary

The sudden death of a bicycle racer leaves Dr Grace struggling to determine the cause. With Julia's assistance, she performs her first brain bisection in her quest for the truth. However, just as she appears to be getting close to reaching a conclusion, the discovery of an injection mark on the victim's arm seems to contradict her findings. Drama, starring Georgina Reilly, Helene Joy and Yannick Bisson star.
