Review

The Truth Terrorist, as he has been dubbed by an odious journalist, is going to increasingly extreme and very labour-intensive lengths to publicise his dissatisfaction with society as this bleak, sinuous thriller slowly unfurls.

Of course his pursuers on both sides of the Channel, detectives Karl Roebuck and Elise Wassermann (Stephen Dillane and Clémence Poésy, both superb) are many steps behind their quarry, who is patently a madman with a very sophisticated grasp of internet technology. He puts it to good use in another appalling stunt as he tries to impress upon the world how poorly ex-servicemen are treated.

Meanwhile, an unhappy young shoplifter tries desperately hard to make herself noticed by her chilly and distant parents.

Summary

In the latest phase of his moral crusade, the killer holds a pensioner hostage in a dark industrial room and sends a message to journalist Danny revealing the identities of the people who can save him. Chuks, Karl and Elise all reach dead ends with their investigations, and back in the UK runaway teenager Sophie is taken in by a seemingly trustworthy man. Stephen Dillane and Clemence Poesy star. In English and French.
