Series 1 - Episode 5 Jungle

The wildlife of Africa's green belt, an area spanning 5,500km from Uganda in the east to Sierra Leone in the west, which is hotter, brighter and wetter than anywhere else on the continent, allowing plants to flourish. People and animals have learned to exploit this abundance - colobus monkeys have developed specialised bacteria-filled stomachs to neutralise the toxins found in their leafy diet, while the Bakaya and Fang tribes use plant poisons to stun their quarry when hunting.
