Episode 6: Room 101

Summary

Strictly host Claudia Winkleman, broadcaster John Humphrys and comedian Russell Kane tell Frank Skinner what really gets on their wick, in the hope he will banish their bugbears to the infamous room for ever. The celebrities' gripes include skiing, summer, whooping in audiences and fussy eaters.

Review

Rating: 3 out of 5.

It’s not surprising that John Humphrys gets a muted response to his first suggestion for relegation to Room 101: studio audiences who are always whooping. Equally unsurprising is that whooping becomes a running joke in what is one of the funniest shows in some time.

Humphrys is also on very shaky ground when he criticises Frank Skinner’s beloved football team, West Bromwich Albion. At this point you know he’s not going to win this round. However, throughout there are helpless tears of laughter from him, Russell Kane (who puts forward a very good argument against fussy eaters) and Claudia Winkleman, who reveals what’s lurking behind her famous fringe.
