Rating: 4 out of 5.

Recovering from flu, Sheldon can't understand why his friends are mad at him – flashbacks reveal his greater-than-usual insensitivity. “It's called empathy and it's something you should work on,” explains happy-to-be-away girlfriend Amy via video call. Considering this a personal challenge, Sheldon practises his remorse, while the others plan a party-bus trip to Vegas without him...

Big Bang seems refreshed after its mid-season break, hitting its cues with greater zest than earlier in the season. A little more for Kevin Sussman to do as hangdog Stuart and Raj's surprising party trick don't hurt, either. Next week, prepare to meet Sheldon's fabled grandmother or “Meemaw”.
