Episode 16: The Positive Negative Reaction

Summary

When the friends find out about Bernadette's big news, they celebrate by getting together for an evening of karaoke. Review

Rating: 4 out of 5.

Bernadette finally reveals her news to Howard, whose euphoria quickly turns to panic. “Look at me, I’m a mess!” Their friends are thrilled, of course, even though Sheldon – consistent as ever – is worried it will change everything. Celebrations are the order of the day, however, and potent cocktails end up in a riotous round of wrecked karaoke.

It’s a sweet episode, with a classic structure of boys’ scenes then girls’ scenes then boys and girls together. Plus two nice micro-moments: watch Penny’s face when Amy boasts about being a woman of the world; and before that, sozzled Sheldon’s smile after taking a big slurp of his drink. Could that possibly be Jim Parsons corpsing?
