Review

Rating: 3 out of 5.

“It doesn’t matter how long you do [the Roadshow], you always see something you’ve never seen before,” exclaims Christopher Payne as he examines an ornately carved prie-dieu hall table.

He’s not the only expert to see something new at Plas Newydd in Anglesey – an extraordinary collection of items relating to deafness is brought in as well as an early pair of chess competition clocks. There are also lovely stories about a Moorcroft vase that was going to be chucked out and an extremely valuable painting the owner didn’t bother to bring in but, having shown the team a photo of it on her mobile, she was persuaded to go back home to fetch it.
