Episode 4: One Born Every Minute

Sooze found the birth of her first baby easy and confidently arrives at Southmead with her husband Joe, but the contractions quickly get the better of her. Teri and Merv, who are about to have their fourth child, talk about the cravings Teri has experienced this time round, while Becki and Ian nervously await their new arrival, having finally committed to each other following an on-off romance.

A star rating of 3 out of 5.

This episode is about the transformative power of love, as expectant mums and dads talk to camera about their romantic lives. Joe liked a drink with the lads, until, he tells us, he decided he was “getting quite tired of being a lout, I wanted to grow up”.

Joe first set eyes on Sooze when she was behind a bar. “[I thought] Yeah, she looks all right, she works in a pub, what more do you want?” Sooze is determined not to swear as she goes into labour (“fudge, fudge, fudge”) but she finally has to let herself go. Meanwhile Merv, who’s in hospital as partner Teri has their fourth child, has been experiencing pregnancy cravings for chili hot dogs.
