Review

Rating: 3 out of 5.

This time on The Mentalist select-a-matic – an art heist! After the kerfuffle over the Rigsbys leaving (good riddance I say) we get a fun, old-fashioned caper.

It’s basically Hustle, complete with slightly self-mocking talk of marks and lures and inside men. We start with an armed raid on a gallery that turns bloody. To catch the gang responsible, Jane sets up an elaborate con trick involving a party house, a marching band and Lisbon resplendent in a cocktail dress.

Simon Baker has fun playing Jane as an airy art thief and there are cute psychological insights: apparently, if you want to get someone to trust you, get them to give you something, however small.
