Review

Rating: 4 out of 5.

The writers tread a fine line with The Big Bang’s epicentre, Sheldon Cooper. Immersed in his own world and his own needs, Sheldon could be unwatchably obnoxious. As played by Jim Parsons, however, he’s a copper-bottomed comic creation. Usually.

In this episode, the character’s unwillingness to accept change (a new dining table for the apartment) is as acutely observed as ever – but without some of the humour to leaven it. At least long-suffering flat-mate Leonard gets in one scorching put-down.

Elsewhere, Howard is invited back into space by Nasa, Bernie tries to remind him how traumatic his last expedition was, and Raj is fed up with sitting on the floor.
