Review

Rating: 4 out of 5.

Leaning heavily on the sci-fi button could be a lazy fall-back for this enduring geek-com, but the results are nearly always a joy. This week the boys go online – nerve ends jangling – to try to secure tickets for Comic-Con. Their abject failure leads to extreme measures. Sheldon’s tentative wooing of James Earl Jones results in this unlikely line bellowed triumphantly from a fairground: “Hey, Los Angeles, I’m on a ferris wheel with Darth Vader. And he’s nicer than you think.”

A neat Iron Man 2 gag, the girls’ refined outing and a further Star Wars cameo round out a satisfying story.
