Episode 12: The Hesitation Ramification

Summary

Meanwhile, Raj and Stuart practise talking to strangers at a shopping centre, and Sheldon studies to become a comic genius. Comedy, starring Johnny Galecki, Jim Parsons and Kaley Cuoco.

Review

Rating: 4 out of 5.

Poor Sheldon thinks he’s funny. But the only one laughing at his laboured jokes – in that unnerving, stuttered-breath way – is Sheldon. So he tries to use science to determine the basis of humour, and asks Amy which of the words “kumquat” and “ointment” is inherently funnier.

The crux of the episode, however, is another jolt in the Penny/Leonard arc, after Penny’s minor role in NCIS gets edited out. With another three seasons guaranteed, it would be easy for the show to tread water, but there are signs that the writers want to keep moving things along. Best scene? Stay tuned for Howard’s Star Wars audition video. Fail!
