Episode 3: The Scavenger Vortex

Summary

The friends compete in a scavenger hunt designed by Raj to test their scientific knowledge and life skills, but the game brings out the best and worst in everyone. As the hunt progresses, Howard and Amy begin to bond over their shared musical tastes, while Penny and Sheldon work together as a team and Bernadette becomes fiercely competitive.

Review

Rating: 4 out of 5.

Just when you think the science-nerd sitcom can’t get any funnier – after 137 episodes it has no right to – it actually does. In a clever ploy to spice things up, the writers mix up the couples when “born showman” Raj devises an ambitious scavenger hunt. So, viciously competitive Bernadette gets paired with laid-back Leonard; megamind Sheldon with “liability” Penny; and Howard with polar opposite Amy... who both turn out to be massive Neil Diamond fans – who knew?

Essentially a caper episode, it’s feel-good and funny. Raj almost steals it with his over-the-top game launch, but Sheldon’s excitable boast about his brain is slap-the-sofa hilarious. You’ll love him for it.
