Review

Rating: 4 out of 5.

You’d think that headlines about the huge pay hikes would affect your enjoyment of the US nerd-com. That is, if you’re not too outraged to watch at all. But remember Friends’ “salary-gate”, how we forgave them all and carried on laughing at the quickfire gaggery?

As series eight of Big Bang begins, it looks as though the writers have pressed the reset button in order to reunite our misfit scientists. When we last saw Sheldon he crumbled at all the threats to his daily rituals, and left town. Now back, and as averse to change as ever, what will he make of Penny’s pixie-style haircut…

So is each of the main cast worth $1 million per episode? Of course not. Is it still funny? We fans of the most watched sitcom internationally certainly think so.
