Revving swiftly into the realm of “things we wish were real but only exist as fan edits” comes this new video from YouTubers Dark Pixel, which combines the vehicles and settings of Star Wars with the chaotic video game fun of Mario Kart for a glorious three-and-a-half minutes of geek wish fulfilment.
Dropping Mario into an X-Wing, Bowser into a TIE fighter and Princess Peach into the Milennium Falcon, the video apparently took the team about a year to make, but for our money it was worth every minute and pixel.
Now we just need to persuade Nintendo and Disney to work out their differences, and we’ve got ourselves a smash hit.
