Your One Hundred Best Tunes with Alfie Boe

It’s been a busy year for Alfie Boe, who recently completed a stint in the West End in Les Mis, released a new album and is preparing for a UK tour. This is a chance for the tenor to give his remarkable voice a rest and instead nominate the music that moves him, from performances by opera stars Maria Callas and Enrico Caruso to themes from films The Big Country and The Godfather.

In a festive special, the tenor features a host of popular classical songs from yesteryear, and pays tribute to the repertoire of former Radio 2 show Your Hundred Best Tunes. His selections include recordings by Enrico Caruso, Maria Callas and Richard Crooks, plus excerpts from Ralph Vaughan Williams' The Lark Ascending and Rachmaninov's Rhapsody on a Theme of Paganini.
