I’m starting to think that ITV keeps Harry Redknapp and Martin Kemp permanently on call. They seem to get ferried from studio to studio to take part in every show in need of a celebrity guest. Maybe they haven’t actually got homes to go to? If that’s the case, the stakes are perilously high in this revival of Play Your Cards Right. Fingers crossed they (along with respective wives Sandra and Shirlie) win enough to put an end to their days bedding down in sleeping bags at ITV Towers.
In the weeks ahead, Alan Carr will also be bringing us a reboot of Name That Tune. Hopefully there’ll be a few Spandau Ballet songs, so that Martin can get a royalty cheque.
