Summary

The Sharmas' journey through British Asian history continues into the 1980s and 1990s, a time when the hard work and sacrifices of South Asian families were beginning to pay off. The family convenience moves away from serving a predominantly South Asian clientele to a mini-mart serving a wider range of customers, and 1982 sees the shop stocking their first VHS tapes for hire. Later, the Sharmas host their last end of era party and reflect on what this journey has taught them about the South Asian experience
