Episode 3: King William Street, Knightsbridge

Summary

Tim Dunn and Siddy Holloway explore King William Street, the original terminus of the first electric Tube in the world

Review

The Tube’s Northern Line has been living up to its nickname of the Misery Line recently, as part of it is closed while it’s being upgraded.

Having had a peek at the long-abandoned King William Street station (which closed in 1890 after only nine years), Tim Dunn and Siddy Holloway are like excited kids when they then watch engineers break through to the old Northern line tunnel near Bank station. It involves lots of machinery, piles of excavated London clay and perhaps too many puns about keeping things on track and seeing the light at the end of the tunnel.
