For not far off two centuries, the Great Yorkshire Show has been a focal point of the year for farmers and producers. It’s still a huge event today, so presenters Julia Bradbury and Jules Hudson are there tonight and tomorrow with the pick of the displays. A good showing at the GYS can mean everything, but it’s an event filled with entertainment and laughter. On tonight’s menu: cheese, tools you might use to become self-sufficient, and champion pigs.
Mingling with the punters are famous faces from Channel 5’s various Yorkshire-based farming and veterinary documentaries and in A Yorkshire Farm at 7pm, new trees are planted and a Highland calf gets a helping hand.
