Summary

"The Newsroom" is an American political drama created by Aaron Sorkin ("The West Wing" and "The Social Network"). It chronicles the behind-the-scenes events at fictional cable news channel ACN and revolves around veteran news anchor Will McAvoy (Jeff Daniels). Will's ex-girlfriend MacKenzie Morgan (Emily Mortimer) serves as the executive producer of his News Night show and his colleagues include senior producer Jim Harper (John Gallagher Jr), associate producer Maggie Jordan (Alison Pill), his former executive producer Don Keefer (Thomas Sadoski), head of the news division Charlie Skinner (Sam Waterston) and the CEO of the cable channel's parent company Leona Lansing (Jane Fonda). It premiered on Sky Atlantic in 2012.
