Episode 5: First Dates

Summary

Two daters returning to the restaurant include recruitment consultant Jack, 27, who is unwilling to change for anyone. Will he measure up for 21-year-old hairdresser Shauna? Meanwhile, 86-year-old Douglas and 76-year-old Joan bond over a shared love of musicals, and social worker Becky 36, meets blockbuster movie safety officer Dave during her second visit

Review

You’ll probably remember metrosexual Jack from a few weeks ago. He’s the good-looking serial dater who “lives life by quotes” but who understandably annoyed his date Safina with his laddish chat and alcohol fixation. “A geezer’s gotta geez!” he explained, but she wasn’t impressed.

He’s back, but insists he won’t change for anyone, so hairdresser Shauna is in for an interesting time. Tellingly, waitress CiCi isn’t thrilled to see him again, but is Shauna warming to his antics? Another second-timer is the diminutive Becky, whose last date was more interested, rudely, in checking the football scores than her. This one actually turns his mobile off so he can concentrate on her.
