Episode 3: Fleabag

Summary

Claire organises a surprise birthday party for herself. Fleabag helps her `inappropriate" brother-in-law to shop for the perfect present, and runs into an old friend while trying to find a date. Award-winning comedy, written by and starring Phoebe Waller-Bridge

Review

Fleabag has been a revelation – both of writer and actress Phoebe Waller-Bridge’s prodigious talent, and that even in its online incarnation, BBC3 is still a reliable source of superb original comedy. This series began by introducing us to the meandering life of charming young Fleabag; witty, endearing and intelligent in equal measure. But it’s growing darker, and becomes more piercingly observed, heartbreaking – and even better – with every episode. Tonight, she must negotiate her sister’s birthday party, help her brother-in-law buy a present, and endure the company of her stepmother – a deliciously evil Olivia Colman.
