Russia v Wales

Summary

Russia v Wales (Kick-off 8.00pm). Coverage of the final Group B fixture for both sides, which comes from the Stadium Municipal in Toulouse. These two countries have only met four times since the break-up of the Soviet Union, with three wins for Russia and one draw. Those matches included the two-legged Euro 2004 play-off, when Wales came agonisingly close to their first European Championship, gaining a creditable 0-0 draw in Moscow only to lose 1-0 in Cardiff and deny the likes of Ryan Giggs, Gary Speed, John Hartson and Craig Bellamy the chance of playing at the finals in Portugal. Presented by Fran Donovan, with commentary from Joe Speight and Tony Pulis, and analysis by Mark Hughes and Craig Bellamy.

Review

The Welsh play for their place in the last 16. Success is likely to come down to how much gas their squad, with its handful of superstars but precious little depth, has in the tank as it plays a third game in nine days. Are Gareth Bale and Aaron Ramsey still fit and firing? Have new stars stepped up in the first two matches? What Wales won’t lack is hunger and belief.
