We’re so used to the heavy-handed “accident about to happen” signposting that it’s disconcerting when no calamity actually materialises. Tonight, there’s an attractive female biker, a bunch of tree surgeons wielding a chainsaw and a deaf lad driving a tractor. So the biker and the boy will crash into each other and someone’s foot will be cut off, right? Wrong.
Meanwhile, a nervous Ruth returns to work (“Is she safe?” asks Lenny. “Safer than you!” retorts Zoe) and Jordan makes an announcement about Charlie that puts a smile on everyone’s face. No smiles for newly engaged Mads, though, who ends the episode in a frightening situation.
