Summary
Reality series in which candidates compete for a chance to go into business with tycoon Alan Sugar. The participants are split into teams and given tasks designed to test their skills in organisation, teamwork, leadership, buying and salesmanship. Once a task is complete, Sugar fires one or more people from the losing team. He relies on feedback from his trusted advisors. They were Nick Hewer and Margaret Mountford for the first five series. Karren Brady replaced Mountford from series six. Companion shows "The Apprentice: You're Fired" and "The Apprentice: You're Hired" air immediately after the main programme on BBC Two. "The Apprentice" premiered on BBC Two in 2005, before transferring to BBC One in 2007.
