Episode 2: Collecting the Coal

Summary

Fred needs to stock up with coal, but it is hard to come by in Bolton. He makes for an opencast mine in Wigan, but soon realises his trip is going to be an uphill struggle when his engine runs out of steam a few miles from his destination. Once he is back on track, he goes to Astley Green Colliery Museum to examine Lancashire boilers and Europe's largest steam-powered winding engine
