Review

What happens when the world’s strongest men come to blows? In 2017 Iceland’s Hafthor Bjornsson (aka The Mountain from Game of Thrones) accused Eddie Hall from Stoke-on-Trent of cheating when he won the 2017 World’s Strongest Man competition. The resulting feud erupted this year when the two met in a Dubai boxing ring to finally settle their differences, mano a mountain.

This understated film — mostly told from Eddie’s side — follows the build-up and ticks every Rocky-esque training moment, but it also paints a picture of a kind, complex and troubled man who used weightlifting as a way out of depression. You can’t help hoping he wins.
